IMC Think Tank

Founded in 2002 to study the future direction of IMC and pass on the experience of past leaders.

The national IMC Think Tank was founded on 27 March 2002 by 張光瑤, the eighth President of the Federation, to study the future direction of IMC and to pass on the experience of past leaders.

How it began

At the Kaohsiung club's handover meeting on 17 January 2002, two club leaders — 許民衛 of IMC Taichung and 陳文豪 of IMC Tainan City — independently proposed a national IMC think tank that would bring the clubs together to consider IMC's direction and build a shared pool of speakers. President 張光瑤 tabled the proposal at the joint board meeting on 2 March 2002, where it was adopted.

How it works today

  • The Think Tank meets twice a year, on the first Saturday of March and of July, chaired by the President of the Federation.

  • Its members are the Federation's ex officio members (the President, the immediate Past President, former Presidents and others) and two former club presidents nominated by each member club.

  • Since 2023, standing members of the Think Tank study long-term strategic issues in depth and make recommendations to the Think Tank and the Board.

  • At the second meeting each year, the incoming President presents the plan for the following year, and the Think Tank reviews the Innovation Awards, the essay competition and the Model Happy Family awards.
